About PURPLE

Purple is a three piece Indie rock band from Beaumont,Texas with a blonde babe drummer, spastic guitarist and a bass player who holds down the groove. They have been together for two years and counting. At a Purple show, they love making the audience feel like their part of it by handing out a tambourine or inviting people to come dance on stage. “I feed off their vibe.”, says Hanna, (drums) about the crowd’s energy. Purple has been compared to bands like The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Pixies & The White Stripes, but with a “new spice to their flavor.” Their musical influences include different genres such as R&B, Jazz, and Rock. Hanna and Tyler (bass) lock together with drum and bass licks, while Taylor (guitar) plays smooth jazzy chords and melodic riffs, layered on top. All-in-all, Purple is a band definitely worth giving a listen to, if your looking for something new. They also have a new CD that will be hitting the scene, you can buy a copy of the short album at their CD release party on April 20, 2012; the show will also be shared with Jenny and the Reincarnation, at Tequila Rok & Blue Iguana Patio on Crockett Street in Beaumont, Texas.
